A prototype for tracking athlete growth over time
DeveluppProduct strategy and a prototype for a coach-facing athlete tracking app.
We made the app better to use, and the store rating rose from 3.8 to 4.6.

Gymboss is an interval timer app for workouts like Tabata and HIIT. Its store rating was stuck at 3.8. We improved the experience people had every day in the app, and about two months later the rating was 4.6.
The app already did its main job well. People used it to build and save timers for their workouts. But reviews kept naming the same bugs and awkward screens, and the rating stayed at 3.8.
The app also asked for reviews at random times. Happy users were rarely asked at a good moment, and frustrated users were sometimes asked at a bad one.
We started with the people using the app. We read through their reviews to find what got in their way most, then fixed those bugs and reworked the screens where people got stuck. Workouts ran more smoothly, and the app felt steadier day to day.
With a better experience in place, we made sure happy users were asked to share it at a good moment, not at random. The rating followed the experience: from 3.8 to 4.6 in about two months.
